What could be better than a cozy cardi in a super soft yarn? Slightly oversized with a splash of color at the hem and cuffs, Endpapers combines style and comfort in this open-front, top-down cardigan. The slip-stitch colorwork pattern uses only one color in each row. It’s a perfect way to get started in colorwork without stranding.

The cardigan is worked seamlessly in one piece from the top down. Stitches for the front band are picked up and knit.

The Telegraph hat uses the same stitch patterns. You can practice on the hat and then “graduate” to the cardigan.

The slip-stitch pattern is both written and charted.

As the yoke increases are worked, the length of your circular needle may need to be adjusted to accommodate changing numbers of stitches worked back and forth. For the sleeves, any method of working in the round (double-pointed needles, two circulars or a long circular for magic loop) may be used. A long circular in the smaller size is required to work the collar and front bands all in one piece..
